New Year's Resolutions

Image
I know what you're thinking. New Year's resolutions are dumb and no one sticks to them. While this may be true for the majority of the population, I think there's something so inspiring behind the idea of starting off fresh each year and bettering ourselves in some way. I think everyone is capable of accomplishing their goals, but there needs to be a drawn-out path on how they will be accomplished. We hear all the time, "I want to lose weight this year," That's great. But how are you going to do that? Are you going to meal plan? Prep all your snacks? Do you have a specific workout plan in mind? Saying you're going to do something with no idea how to get there is just setting yourself up for failure. Two years ago I decided to run a race a month for the year, and I did it (I know I discussed this in a previous post ). It was time consuming to put so much effort into that, but it was worth it. This is all meant in good humor, people!***

She had horses (one was owned by me), cows, chickens, pigs (one owned by me & my cousin), cats, dogs, guinea pigs, goats, and sheep. I remember feeding the baby goats bottles of milk and playing hide & seek in the dark. I remember laying out on the roof of the barn and watching the clouds roll by. I remember baling hay and driving my uncle's huge truck (which was terrifying) when I couldn't lift the hay bales anymore. I would say days spent on my aunt's farm are probably my favorite childhood/youth memories. However, while I do think of myself as mostly country, I do have one quality that is very contradictory of the country lifestyle: I am a complete neat freak . My aunt had this huge barn where all the cows lived and hay was stored, but there was this one room that was partially closed off that I turned into my fort. And I cleaned and organize
