My Crazy Coop

"I think I'll write a blog!" Easy first words, followed by not having a clue on how to start. I decided to start a blog because I want to talk about my crazy life with family and chickens without feeling bad about putting it all over social media. I've been a wife for 7 years, mom for 5 years, and chicken owner for 3 months. I'm hoping to write about our new experiences as chicken owners and what all is involved in chick/en ownership, as well as including fun stories about my family. So what's first??? Introductions! I like to think of myself as a country girl. When I was younger, I spent practically every weekend on my aunt's farm. I would say days spent on my aunt's farm are probably my favorite childhood/youth memories. However, while I do think of myself as mostly country, I do have one quality that is very contradictory of the country lifestyle: I am a complete neat freak . My aunt had this huge barn where all the cows lived and hay was stored, but there was this one room that was partially closed off that I turned into my fort. And I cleaned and organize...

Like most people, I love to travel. Unlike most people, I often choose places to travel based on what weird adventure is there. I decided to focus this post on my "off the beaten path" activities after several people asked me where I come up with this stuff. Honestly, most things I do are either from an idea that'll pop in my head like... I wonder if I can actually PLAY the bagpipes instead of just listen to them. But most often, my friends will send me a post about something weird that, "made me think of you." Those are my favorites because it means that my people just get me. So without further ado...  Pumpkin Regatta - Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival   The Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival is the largest pumpkin fest in the world. Located in Ludwigsburg, Germany, this yearly event attracts people from all over. Each year there is a new theme and the pumpkin structures (pictured below & above) change based on that. Between the beautiful palace, gardens, and intri...
